Lenovo, UQU to Transform Education in Saudi Arabia

Umm Al Qura University (UQU) in Makkah has joined hands with Lenovo, a global IT solutions brand, to revolutionize educational experiences in Saudi Arabia. This collaboration, announced during LEAP 2024, reflects UQU’s commitment to preparing students for a knowledge-based economy and supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) outlines the launch of a ‘Professional Supervision Program’ aimed at providing students with practical exposure to professional environments. This initiative, aligned with Vision 2030’s focus on youth empowerment, will equip students with a deeper understanding of the labor market, enabling them to make informed career choices.

Dr. Amer Alzaidi, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Umm Al Qura, emphasized the importance of youth in driving societal and economic transformation, highlighting their role in achieving Vision 2030 goals. He underscored the partnership with Lenovo as pivotal in modernizing education and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Marwan Basat, General Manager of Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group in Saudi Arabia, expressed pride in the collaboration, noting its significance in reshaping education for the digital era.
