Alibaba Cloud Boosts MEA Digital Skills with Dubai Hub

Alibaba Cloud, the technological backbone of Alibaba Group, has inaugurated the Alibaba Cloud Academy Training Center in Dubai Internet City, marking a significant move to enhance digital proficiency across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

Situated within Dubai Internet City, a renowned global tech ecosystem under TECOM Group PJSC, this training center serves as a focal point for customers and partners aiming to bolster their digital capabilities. It is tailored to empower Alibaba Cloud’s ecosystem partners and clients through comprehensive training sessions, workshops, and certifications. Notably, it integrates into a vibrant community comprising more than 3,500 entities, including Fortune 500 companies, SMEs, and startups, actively driving digital transformation initiatives from Dubai Internet City.

In collaboration with Aladdin Cyber Security, a prominent provider of security services and solutions, the Training Center intends to host monthly training and enablement programs spanning various cutting-edge technologies, ranging from AI to database management and elastic computing. These initiatives form part of a broader endeavor to ensure that ecosystem partners and customers remain abreast of the latest Alibaba Cloud innovations while fostering the development of top-tier digital talents.

Aligned with the objectives of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 and the UAE Centennial 2071 vision, which emphasize digital transformation as a catalyst for economic growth, this training initiative underscores Alibaba Cloud’s commitment to the region’s long-term digital prosperity.

Echoing this sentiment, Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President – Commercial at TECOM Group, representing Dubai Internet City, emphasized the critical role of upskilling in sustaining economic competitiveness and innovation, stating, “By investing in upskilling and training talent on cutting-edge technologies, we can remain agile, innovative and competitive.”

Over the next five years, Alibaba Cloud aims to train 5,000 individuals in the MEA Region through this initiative. Complementing its virtual training programs, the launch of this physical training center underscores Alibaba Cloud’s dedication to empowering digital talents globally.

Since April 2023, the Alibaba Cloud Academy program has already trained over 60,000 individuals worldwide, offering a comprehensive array of online and offline certification courses. With a robust local ecosystem in the MEA region, Alibaba Cloud has been a key player in providing cloud services to local enterprises and public institutions since 2016.

Aladdin Cyber Security, established in Dubai in 2023, stands as a testament to collaborative efforts in enhancing cybersecurity capabilities within the region. As a leading provider of security solutions, it plays a crucial role in safeguarding digital assets and fostering a secure digital environment.
