In a significant move towards advancing digital innovation, du, a subsidiary of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) have announced a strategic collaboration with the Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD). CBD, a prominent national bank in the UAE, has opted for HPE GreenLake, hosted within du’s state-of-the-art Tier III Certified data centers, to expedite its hybrid cloud adoption and enhance both customer and employee experiences.

Established in 1969, CBD stands as a key player in the UAE’s banking sector, catering to a diverse clientele with a range of banking services. Committed to its digital transformation journey and vision to become ‘default digital,’ CBD has witnessed substantial growth in its customer base over the years. To better serve these customers, the bank embarked on a robust digital innovation strategy, with a hybrid cloud infrastructure at its core.

By leveraging HPE GreenLake as the cornerstone of its private cloud, supplemented by du’s comprehensive network and security solutions, CBD aims to realize its ambitious five-year strategy swiftly. This strategy is designed to establish a more streamlined and automated self-service IT operational model, enhancing responsiveness, visibility, and control while minimizing complexities and manual processes. CBD seeks to operate core banking applications and workloads within a private cloud environment infused with AI capabilities and tailored services, ensuring adaptability to evolving business needs and meeting customer expectations.
