EnerTech Unveils ‘CHRGR’: Kuwait’s Electric Mobility Platform Hits UAE

EnerTech, an innovative company based in Kuwait specializing in sustainability solutions, has unveiled a groundbreaking solar-powered charging platform for electric motorcycles in the UAE, coinciding with the commencement of COP28 in Dubai.

Known as CHRGR, EnerTech’s fully-integrated, sustainable electric mobility ecosystem revolutionizes last-mile delivery by combining solar charging points with electric motorcycles. This initiative, in collaboration with the Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum, marks the beginning of an ambitious plan to decarbonize the UAE’s transportation sector over the next three years.

CHRGR, as the UAE’s inaugural end-to-end electric mobility platform, establishes a new standard for sustainable last-mile delivery and aligns with the country’s goal of achieving a net-zero economy by 2050. Timed with COP28, where global attention is on accelerating the energy transition, CHRGR emerges as a breakthrough solution for decarbonizing transportation and logistics systems in the Middle East and beyond.

Abdullah Al Mutairi, CEO of EnerTech, expressed pride in launching CHRGR in the UAE, emphasizing its role in steering the region toward a circular economy and contributing significantly to the global race for net-zero emissions by midcentury. EnerTech’s reputation as a reliable sustainability advisor and partner is highlighted in its commitment to implementing and scaling innovative solutions for both public and private sectors.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum emphasized the strategic importance of collaborating with EnerTech on CHRGR, aligning with the UAE’s vision of a sustainable future and supporting COP28 goals.

The CHRGR ecosystem, developed over three years of intensive research, integrates solar-powered charging points, electric motorcycles, and a mobile app with advanced IT infrastructure. The mobile, plug-and-play, modular charging points, capable of supporting up to 30 kWp of photovoltaic panels each, can be swiftly deployed to meet urban mobility demands without civil works. The modular cabinets inside the stations accommodate ten battery slots, ensuring a seamless experience for electric motorcycle drivers.

The CHRGR platform, complemented by a dedicated mobile app, enhances the last-mile delivery experience by enabling drivers to easily locate charging cabinets, swap and reserve batteries, ensuring uninterrupted service and heightened operational efficiency. Beyond operational improvements, CHRGR delivers cost reductions, decreased noise and air pollution, setting a new standard for cost-effective, health-focused transport solutions.

EnerTech plans to establish manufacturing facilities for CHRGR components in the UAE, contributing to the National In-Country Value (ICV) strategy and aligning with the country’s sustainability ambitions. CHRGR represents a pivotal addition to EnerTech’s offerings, serving as a foundational element in creating an extensive sustainable mobility platform with regional and global reach.
